The Christian understanding of spiritual development involves growing in faith, knowledge of God’s word, obedience to His commandments, and embodying the characteristics of Christ such as love, kindness, patience, and self-control. It is a lifelong process of transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit, conforming to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).
