The Church’s Role in the Civil Rights Movement

The church played a crucial role in the civil rights movement by providing moral and spiritual support to activists, advocating for racial equality based on Christian principles, and participating in protests and marches to combat segregation and discrimination. Church leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were instrumental in leading the movement with messages of nonviolence and equality. (Ephesians 2:14 – “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility”)
