The Church’s Role in Supporting the Elderly

The role of the church in supporting the elderly is to provide love, care, and practical assistance to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. This includes visiting them, offering transportation to church and medical appointments, helping with household chores, and providing companionship and social activities. In doing so, the church can embody the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
