One of the roles of the church is to support the hungry. This is seen in James 2:15-16 which says, “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” The church is called to not only offer spiritual nourishment but also to provide for the physical needs of those who are hungry.
