Understanding the Christian Works of Mercy

The Christian understanding of the works of mercy is based on the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-40, where He instructs His followers to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick and imprisoned, and offer other acts of charity and compassion to those in need. These works of mercy are seen as a way to show love for God and for our neighbors, reflecting the grace and compassion that God has shown to us.
