Christians believe that environmental stewardship is a biblically-based responsibility given to humanity by God. Genesis 2:15 states, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” This demonstrates the importance of caring for and cultivating the Earth. Additionally, Psalm 24:1 declares, “The Earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” This verse emphasizes that the Earth belongs to God, and we are entrusted to care for it responsibly. Christians are called to be good stewards of the environment, to protect and preserve God’s creation for future generations.
