The Importance of Human Rights in Christianity

Every person is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and therefore has inherent dignity and worth. Christians believe in upholding the rights and protecting the welfare of all individuals, as instructed by Jesus to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:39). Human rights are seen as essential in promoting justice, peace, and respect for the sanctity of life, as affirmed in various biblical teachings.
